Abstract


Purpose – This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Islamic cultural history learning in the formation of students' Islamic character at MTs Pekanbaru City.
Design/methods/approach – This research is a field research using descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The population of this study were all eighth grade students of MTs Darul Muqomah, all eighth grade students of MTs Taufiq Wal Hidayah, and all eighth grade students of MTs Diniyah Puteri. sampling using the Slovin formula. Data collection is done by means of observation. The data analysis technique used a quantitative descriptive technique with the interval width formula.
Findings – The results of the study of the effectiveness of learning the history of Islamic culture in the formation of Islamic character in students at MTs Pekanbaru City were "Very Good" i.e. 86% were between 81%-100%. Because it is located at the percentage level of 81%-100%, the results of this analysis prove that the effectiveness of Islamic Cultural History Learning for Students at MTs Pekanbaru City is in the "Very Good" category.
