Peran Keluarga dalam Pendidikan Islam: Membangun Karakter Anak Sejak Dini (Studi Kasus Siswa SD Islam excellent kota Bukittinggi)
Abstract
This study discusses the role of the family in Islamic education and its contribution to the formation of children's character from an early age, with a case study on students of SD Islam Excellent in Bukittinggi City. The family is the first institution responsible for providing religious education to children before they enter the formal education environment. Therefore, the involvement of parents in instilling Islamic values has a significant impact on the development of children's morals and personality. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data was obtained through interviews with parents, teachers, and observations of the child's parenting and educational environment. The results of the study show that parents who are active in their children's Islamic education, either through direct teaching, worship habits, or example, have children with better character in the aspects of honesty, discipline, and responsibility. In addition, synergy between families and schools plays an important role in strengthening Islamic-based character education. However, this study also found several challenges, such as the limited time parents have in accompanying their children, the influence of the external environment, and the negative impact of the use of technology. Therefore, effective strategies are needed to optimize the role of the family, such as increasing communication between parents and schools and strengthening Islamic values in the home environment. The results of this research are expected to contribute to parents, educators, and educational institutions in increasing the effectiveness of Islamic education in the family and building the character of children who have noble character and have strong spiritual intelligence.
